Finishing What I Start!

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]Do you find yourself struggling to finish what you start? You know God has given you big visions and dreams, however you can’t seem to complete a task or get to the finish line. Every time you feel motivated you fulfill the task at hand full force, but when the distractions come you look up and realize months have passed by before you thought about what you were so on fire about. Well, I want to first say, you are not alone! Sometimes we hear and know what God has called us to do, but we get so ahead of ourselves before we can even hear clear instructions. We go full force wanting to be the next best blogger, youtuber, social media phenomenon, or successful business owner that we never take the time to prepare. Preparing doesn’t always mean you will get to work right away; preparing means you may have to sit down with God and grow mentally & spiritually to hear exactly what he requires for you to do. I am reminded of Nehemiah, when he had to build the walls of Jerusalem (. Before he went full force in the tasks at hand he did the following…

  1. Wept, fasted, and prayed! Have you taken the time to be in touch with the infirmities of the people you say you are called to reach? Have you dealt with your own emotional healing?
  2. Waited for God. Nehemiah prayed to God then waited for Him to answer. Have you given God time to answer your prayer or are you rushing to be the answer?
  3. He told no one. Nehemiah didn’t go running and telling everyone what God called him to do. To many women are telling others about how God wants to use them, instead of just being used in silence.
  4. He built and stayed focused on his assignment. Get into a season where you are in a zone and don’t allow any distractions to take you out.
